Wellness is an active process of making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is broadly defined. There are similar components to each definition: Wellness is a choice, Wellness is proactive and Wellness is a continuous process.
Wellness is a lifelong journey. It is an active and intentional process of making choices and staying committed. Overall, wellness means being healthy in many dimensions of our lives. We all want to live a full and abundant life, but, it is not always easy. There are many aspects of life that we cannot control. Even though, we cannot control things, we can enhance our overall well being.
As we commit and engage in activities that enhance, uplift and balance us, we will experience clarity of thought and peaceful sleep.
Dimensions of Wellness
Physical: Nourishing a healthy body through exercise, nutrition, and sleep.
Mental: Engaging the world through learning, problem-solving, and creativity.
Emotional: Being aware of, accepting and expressing our feelings, and, being sensitive of others feelings.
Spiritual: Searching for meaning and higher purpose in human existence.
Social: Connecting and engaging with others, in meaningful ways.
Environmental: Fostering positive interrelationships between planetary health and human actions, choices and wellbeing.
